Sandy Herrault started playing violin at the age of 7 through the Philadelphia public schools. She was a dedicated student of the violin, eventually studying under Edgar Ortenberg and playing in many area-wide student orchestras. Her passion the violin continued as she majored in violin performance at the University of West Virginia. Years later, she fell in love with Irish music and branched out to many genres, performing with various bands, recording two CD’s with the band she helped form, Celtic Soul.
Since moving to North Carolina in 2003, Herrault has been teaching violin full-time and performing both solo and in collaboration with others. She performs regularly at events, breweries, restaurants. Herrault has authored seven books of violin music for students and performers, and has a studio in Cornelius.
