Nita B FAQs
Q. What style of music do you play?
Q. How many songs do you typically play & what instruments do you play?
A. Two – vocals & acoustic jazz guitar (Nita B Duo, my most popular offering). Keys substitute for the guitar sometimes.
Q. Do you play in other configurations?
- Nita B Trio – Add upright bass to the duo format of jazz standards – this can be expanded with sax, keys and drums. Classic jazz ensemble, more acoustic set-up.
- Nita B & Her Soirée (full band) – Classic jazz ensemble with a bit of “oomph”, with vocals, electric bass, drums, electric guitar or keyboards playing vintage upbeat jazz standards. Blues horns may be added to this configuration. This configuration is great for festivals and larger public events.
Q. Why did you become a professional musician?
A. I’m a self-taught, late bloomer to music and fell in love with it. My “hobby” has progressed naturally and I didn’t mind, so I keep on keeping on with performing as Nita B.
Q. Where are you located?
A. Charlotte, NC and Beautfort/Hilton Head, SC.
Q. Do you travel?
Q. Why should an event professional book you?
A. After 20+ years of experience, I exude a high level of professionalism. I am dependable & considerate, and I offer a lot of extra efforts to make sure an event goes well. My song choices are high quality as well as unique, and I bring great classic jazz songs back to life. My music appeals to both young and old, and I have a definite knack in reading a crowd at an event. I know when to be quiet and chill, but I also know when to pep things up a bit. I am proud of my music, musical partners, songs and the product I’m able to provide, and it shows with every performance.
Q. Do you have the capability of providing your own sound & lights?
A. Sound – yes, for 300 or less. I have no lights.
