Ephraim Sommers FAQs
Q. What style of music do you play?
A. Ray Lamontagne meets Marvin Gaye. A little dirty, a little smooth, always grooving.
Q. How many pieces do you typically play in an hour and what instruments are they?
A. An hour of music is usually 12-15 songs. I typically play an acoustic guitar and sing.
Q. Do you play in other configurations?
A. No.
Q. Why did you become a professional musician?
A. My father played music with his friends every Friday night in a basement studio beneath my bedroom, so it was only right I became a musician myself. In addition, the act of trying to give someone the gift of a good time through music gives me great joy.
Q. Where are you located?
A. Rock Hill, SC.
Q. Do you travel?
A. I’m happy to travel.
Q. Why should an event professional book you?
A. My biggest strength as a musician is my ability to adapt to any setting. From wedding processions on the beach in Costa Rica, to wine bars in Charleston, to California wineries, to private dinner parties, to rowdy brewery patios in Charlotte, to intimate bottle shops, to night clubs, and to upscale restaurants, it’s my job to find the mood of your evening and to further emphasize that mood with the music and songs that I’m playing. I have a wide range of songs, and I pride myself on thriving in any musical situation. It’s my job to create a tasteful ambience for your perfect event, and that starts with what YOU want. I’d love to collaborate with YOU on creating your perfect afternoon or evening event!
Q. Do you have the capability of providing your own sound & lights?
A. I have my own sound, and I do have some lights. I do not have a light rack, however. Let’s talk about more about what kind of atmosphere you’re looking for, and I’m happy to make it happen!
