John Doll is one of the most talented and knowledgeable classical and Spanish guitarists in the Charlotte area. His traditional Spanish guitar music is perfect for corporate events, dinner parties, cultural events, and more.
John Doll holds a Master’s degree in Guitar Performance from East Carolina University, where he also taught undergraduate music courses for 2 years. He has over 15 years of experience as a private music teacher, and currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at South Piedmont Community College in Monroe, NC.
John Doll has performed with acclaimed guitarists from around the globe, and is an active performer and recording artist. He studied improvisation and electric guitar with Dustin Hofsess, developing a personal style influenced by jazz fusion. John Doll became interested in the classical guitar after hearing works by composers such as Agustin Barrios, Jorge Morel, and Antonio Lauro. One of his early classical influences was Charles Vaughn, whom he went on to study with for 10 years. John has also studied guitar and interpretation with Mike Mosley at UNC Charlotte.
