A. A combination of pop, rock and classic soul.
Q. How many pieces do you play as and what instruments are they?
A. Late Night Special’s core lineup is a 5-piece band:
- Acoustic Guitar/Vocals
- Electric guitar/Vocals
- Electric Guitar
- Bass
- Drums
Q. Do you play in other configurations?
A. We are available as a 6-piece band with a saxophonist, and I (Fred Lee IV) also play solo as a guitarist with vocals. Upon availability, we can add a full horn section and piano.
Q. Why did you become a professional musician?
A. I (band leader Fred Heintz) fell in love with music just 7 short years ago [as of 2019]. I’ve always been an avid listener of many different genres of music, but never thought I had the talent to play until I picked up a guitar. That first chord I learned told my heart that I could do it, and so I did it! Within a year I knew how to play a few songs and the following year I started to sing. Once I knew I could do both, I grew very passionate about music and decided that I could do big things with this talent. From there the snowball just started to tumble and my love and passion grew bigger every day. 3 years ago [as of 2019], I sold my food truck business to become a full time professional musician, and I never turned back! I’ve worked many jobs over the years and not one touched my soul like music has. It’s something I truly love, and I know I was born to do.
