Q. What style of music do you play?
A. Americana.
Q. How many pieces do you typically play as and what instruments are they?
A. We are typically a quartet – Molly on vocals and acoustic guitar, Eleanor on vocals and open-back banjo, Gary on upright bass and Mike on drums.
Q. Do you play in other configurations?
A. We can also perform as a trio (without drums) or a duo (without drums and bass). For special circumstances, we can perform as a quintet with an added lead guitar/pedal steel player.
Q. Why did you become a professional musician?
A. Eleanor and I (Molly) became professional musicians for the love of music. We met in college and formed Underhill Rose in 2009. Since then, it’s been an organic evolution of recording the music we write and perform, releasing it and getting to travel the world in celebration. No matter who you are, music can connect you to others and make you feel inspired, and we are lucky to get to perform it for you.
