Alan Barrington is a fingerstyle guitarist who blends elements from country, blues and jazz music to create a sound of his own.
Now based in South Carolina, Barrington has brought his unique acoustic new folk and blues sound to audiences throughout the country. He has been credited with creating “heartfelt and well-written songs” which are “sung in an immaculate voice,” one which is capable of “encompassing both his native West Coast and adopted East Coast southern charm.”
According to The Charlotte Observer, Barrington’s music is “introspective, sometimes delicate work, full of personal observations and emotional sketches.” The Observer adds that “Barrington offers nicely crafted folk-pop along the lines of David Wilcox or Pierce Pettis.”
Barrington has also opened for the Charlotte Symphony Summer Pops for the last several years.

A. Free fingerstyle acoustic music, blending country, blues, and jazz through melody and rhythm.
Q. How many pieces do you typically play as & what instruments are they?
A. I perform as solo, duo and trio. I sing and play the acoustic guitar, dobro, and electric guitar supported by bass and acoustic drums.

Q. Why did you become a professional musician?
A. In college, I majored in music then went on to tour throughout the united states and Canada. It’s something that’s always been in the family through my father. He would often sing and play guitar before we went to bed at night.
Q. Where are you located?
A. Originally from Southern California, I now live in Rock Hill, SC
Q. Do you travel?
A. I travel as far south as Florida, and as far north as Michigan. Up and down the east coast and as far west as New Mexico.
