Booking Agent / Entertainment Sales Specialist

Part-Time or Full-Time • Commission-Based • In-Office Onboarding Required • Flexible Schedule After Training

Key Signature Entertainment is a Charlotte-based live entertainment and event production company helping clients find and book the right entertainment for their events.

We’re looking for a sales-minded, relationship-driven professional to join our team as a Booking Agent / Entertainment Sales Specialist.

This is primarily an office-based sales role. Most of the work happens behind the scenes through client communication, research, follow-up, proposals, artist coordination, and moving opportunities toward confirmed bookings.

What You’ll Do

  • Respond to entertainment inquiries

  • Follow up with prospective clients

  • Research new sales opportunities

  • Recommend artists based on event needs and budget

  • Prepare proposals and entertainment options

  • Communicate with clients, artists, and venues

  • Track leads and bookings in our CRM

  • Build relationships that lead to repeat and referral business

Success in this role comes from creating opportunities, following up consistently, closing bookings, and generating revenue.

Who We’re Looking For

You may be a strong fit if you are:

  • Self-motivated and proactive

  • Comfortable with sales, outreach, and follow-up

  • Organized and detail-oriented

  • Able to work independently without constant direction

  • Confident communicating with clients and artists

  • Comfortable asking for the business

  • Interested in live music and familiar with artists, genres, instruments, and events

  • Looking to grow within Key Signature, not simply observe the industry

You do not need to be a musician or have years of entertainment-industry experience. Strong experience in sales, hospitality, customer service, account management, business development, or another relationship-driven field can translate well.

What This Role Is Not

This is not primarily a role in:

  • Performing

  • Audio or studio production

  • Artist management or A&R

  • Graphic design or content creation

  • Touring

  • Backstage or event-day work

Live events are the end result of our work. Most of the work required to make them happen takes place in the office beforehand.

In-Office Training Comes First

New agents are expected to work part-time from our Charlotte office during the initial 3–6 month training period.

This is where you’ll learn our booking process, client communication style, artist relationships, systems, CRM, pricing, and follow-up process.

Remote or hybrid flexibility may become available after you’ve demonstrated that you understand our systems and can manage your responsibilities independently.

This is not a remote-start position.

Compensation & Schedule

This is a commission-based role with greater schedule flexibility once training is complete.

Because the role is commission-based, self-motivation matters. We’re looking for someone who sees opportunities, follows through, and takes ownership of their business.

Good People, Good Music.

If you enjoy sales, relationships, live entertainment, and turning conversations into opportunities, we’d love to hear from you.

SPECIAL EVENT TEAM (SEASONAL)

Part-Time • Hourly Pay • Seasonal Event Work

Key Signature Entertainment produces concerts, festivals, community events, and other live entertainment throughout the Carolinas region.

We’re looking for dependable, energetic team members to help support the onsite operations and logistics of these events.

What You’ll Do

Depending on the event, responsibilities may include:

  • Artist and vendor check-in

  • Guest assistance and wayfinding

  • Backstage and hospitality support

  • Event setup and breakdown

  • Helping keep schedules and event areas organized

  • Assisting with basic event logistics and communication

  • Supporting the Key Signature team wherever needed onsite

Who We’re Looking For

You may be a strong fit if you:

  • Are dependable and arrive on time

  • Communicate well with guests, artists, vendors, and teammates

  • Stay calm and helpful in busy environments

  • Are comfortable being on your feet for long periods

  • Can take direction and also notice when something needs to be done

  • Enjoy live events and working with people

  • Are available for some evenings and weekends

Previous event, hospitality, customer service, production, venue, or festival experience is helpful but not required.

Seasonal Schedule

Most of our Special Event Team opportunities take place during the spring, summer, and early fall, when our concert and festival schedule is busiest.

Hours vary by event, and this is not a guaranteed weekly schedule.

If you enjoy live events, working behind the scenes, and helping create a great experience for artists, clients, and guests, we’d love to hear from you.

MUSIC INDUSTRY INTERNSHIP

Part-Time • In-Office • Hands-On Business Experience

Interested in learning how the live entertainment business actually works behind the scenes?

Key Signature Entertainment offers internship opportunities for students and early-career professionals who want exposure to the business side of live entertainment, including booking, artist relations, client communication, marketing, event coordination, and office operations.

This is not primarily an event-day or backstage internship.

Most of the experience takes place in our Charlotte office.

What You May Work On

Depending on your interests and our current needs, projects may include:

  • Researching artists, clients, and event opportunities

  • Assisting with booking and artist communication

  • Supporting client follow-up and event coordination

  • Updating databases, schedules, and event information

  • Helping with marketing and promotional projects

  • Preparing event details and administrative materials

  • Occasionally assisting at concerts, festivals, and special events

Who We’re Looking For

You may be a strong fit if you:

  • Are self-motivated and comfortable working independently

  • Take initiative instead of waiting for the next assignment

  • Are organized and detail-oriented

  • Communicate professionally

  • Are curious about the business side of entertainment

  • Are comfortable spending significant time working at a desk

  • Want to contribute, not just observe

  • Are open to learning areas outside of your current interests

You do not need previous music-industry experience, but we value applicants who can show initiative, professionalism, and genuine interest in how the business works.

What This Internship Is Not

If your primary goal is performing, recording, audio engineering, artist management, or simply being onsite at events, this may not be the right internship for you.

Live events are part of what we do, but most of the work required to make those events successful happens long before show day.

If you’re interested in learning the business of live entertainment while contributing to a small, hands-on team, we’d love to hear from you.
