Thirsty Horses FAQs

Q. What style of music do you play?

A. We play a wide variety of rock n’ roll, pop and Americana/country rock from the 60s to today.

Q. How many pieces do you typically play as and what instruments are they?

A. We typically perform as a 4-piece full band (two guitars, bass and drums) and a trio (two guitars and drums or guitar, bass and drums).

Q. Do you play in other configurations?

A. Yes, I perform often as a solo acoustic/vocal act and as a duo (two guitars or guitar and drums). We strive to be flexible in our configuration and can scale up or down as needed.

Q. Why did you become a professional musician?

A. I became a professional musician to do something I loved and to make people happy. It is very rewarding to provide a service that brings a smile to someone’s face and helps make a joyous occasion (wedding, anniversary, birthday or other celebration) better. And for the occasional somber or low-key occasion, to help console or soothe someone in more difficult times.

As a musician, I have found that I get to participate in the human experience more fully, and provide a soundtrack along the way as those memories are created.
Becoming a professional musician has been a great decision.
Q. Where are you located?

A. I am based in the Lake Norman area, and my bandmates are scattered around the greater Charlotte area.

Q. Do you travel?

A. Yes, we typically travel within a 2 hour radius from the Charlotte area.

Q. Why should an event professional book you?

A. Aside from our talents as performers, I like to believe our greatest assets are our flexibility and professionalism. We have the ability to adjust to nearly any type of event, audience or venue through our expansive songlist and scaleable lineup.

We have years of experience performing for multiple types of events and situations and we enjoy interacting with and reading the audience so that our performance is appropriate for the setting. If a high-energy show is needed, let’s rock! If we need to start slow and ramp it up as we go, excellent! If a more moderate/background vibe is needed, no problem!

Which leads me to our last asset: communication.
Everything runs more smoothly and is enjoyable for both sides when everyone is on the same page. Communicating is key to understanding the specific needs and special requests of the client so that we can tailor our performance to the occasion.
This attention to detail, along with the qualities I listed above, are why I think an event professional or client would enjoy working with us.
Q. Do you have the capability of providing your own sound & lights?

A. Yes, we have the ability to provide both.
